We will review your responses and take a look at your website to determine if we're a good fit for this project. We'll get back to you within 3 business days.

Payment and Scheduling

If this seems like a potential fit, we'll send you a link to schedule a date and submit your payment. Once we've received payment, we'll provide a list of items/info that you'll need to submit before our planning session. We generally schedule our makeover sessions about two weeks out so that you have time to provide us with passwords and any other info.

Stategy Session & Getting to Work

We'll meet over Zoom for our strategy session, then I'll get to work on sprucing up your website! You'll get a report from us within 48 hours of completion of the work with a summary of what we did, plus suggested next steps.

Will you make my site look good on mobile/be responsive?

Will you maintain my current branding with the makeover?

I'd like to add e-commerce or turn this into a subscription/membership site - is this included?

No. The Website makeover is intended to focus on the aesthetics of the website and structuring the content to guide visitors to your desired outcomes. E-commerce and membership functionality are more complex, and though Sara Lorien Design is well experienced in these areas, those features are outside the scope of the Makeover package. If you need something like that, please fill out our project inquiry to get the ball rolling.

What website platforms can you work with?

I'm a wiz with WordPress and Shopify, so I can do higher level stuff in less time on those platforms. But I'm tech savvy and have worked with other platforms, so I can usually figure these out fairly quickly. Please be aware that some platforms charge you more for the ability to modify some design elements and some are just restrictive.

Can you add a sign-up to my CRM (i.e. MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc)

Will you write new content or edit my content?

Mostly No. We may pull out headlines from your content, or shift stuff around a bit if we feel like it will better convey your value or be clearer to the end users. And we may do some copyediting for spelling or grammar. However, if a lot editing is needed, or the copy that exists is not serving your business well, we may put you in touch with one of our copy-writing partners or suggest co-writing with AI.

I have some changes and edits I'd like to make to the content - will you do that for me?

Do you provide images?

No. However, imagery is an important part of a websites' visual appeal. Having good quality images can really help tell your story. With the WordPress makeover package, we will size/crop up to 10 images that you provide. If the images are bad, we may suggest using some stock photos and send you links to some that would work for your situation. You'll purchase the license to the photo, then provide us a copy to add to your website.

Do you make the changes on a live site?

Yes, but we are primarily dealing with cosmetic changes, so the likelihood of the site being down is quite small. If your web host offers a staging area (like WPEngine), we are happy to use it. Because we are working in 1-day sprints for Makeover projects, your site won't be impacted for long. However, if you have concerns, please let us know and we'll work out a strategy to minimize the impact to your customers.

Can you make-over an e-commerce site?

Maybe. Please inquire if this is your situation. Switching themes can be risky when there is a store involved. So we'd likely only do this if your current theme is flexible enough to allow for the desired design changes or we switch you to a theme that we know for sure is compatible and well supported with your e-commerce platform.

We will not be modifying layout or functionality of the product pages, add to cart, or check-out area. Nor will we be changing your products or categories. If anything were to change in e-commerce, it would be colors, type, spacing, etc. (visual accents to coordinate with other design changes made to site)
